Our Director, Sarah Latham, writes a message for supporters and gives details of a very exciting new job vacancy at LDCF. Have a read...
We are living through interesting political times. In the two years I have been Director of LDCF, we’ve had a referendum, major by-election campaigns, a general election, a new Prime Minister, a new Lib Dem Leader and now we’re seeing our political system in (what seems to be) meltdown.
Amid all of that, LDCF is stronger than ever. We have managed to grow our membership and our profile in and outside the Party; we have pioneered the first training for Party activists on engaging with faith communities; we have authored and campaigned for the Party to adopt a distinctive and transformational policy on homelessness; we have partnered with a number of wonderful NGOs and churches within the Christian community to support their work and make sure the Lib Dems hear their voice in debates around refugees, extremism, poverty and faith; and we have encouraged hundreds of Christians across the country to step into the world of politics for the first time.
So, it is on a high that I have decided to move onto a new role elsewhere and will be leaving LDCF next week.
Recruitment is underway for a new LDCF Director to take over. The job advert is here. Please do share the link with your networks and consider whether you, or anyone you know, could be the next Director. Above all, do join us in prayer for God’s blessing on the whole process.
I leave as convinced as when I started that our movement of Christians passionate about building a free, equal and just society is needed more than ever. I have no doubt that LDCF will continue to flourish under the leadership of our new Executive and the new Director (whoever it may be!). As a committed supporter, I will look forward to seeing where God takes it.
Thank you for all your support over the past two years – you, our supporters, have been a source of great inspiration and motivation.
