LDCF at Autumn Conference

LDCF joined thousands of Lib Dem members at the Lib Dem Autumn conference in Bournemouth last month. Here’s some highlights from the week…

On the first full day of Conference, LDCF members created a sea of yellow in the Sunday service of local church, the Wessex Christian Centre, as they joined together for prayer and worship.

The next day, the annual LDCF Prayer Breakfast took place. This year saw record attendance as 88 conference delegates ate breakfast and prayed together. Simon Hughes shared his experience of mixing faith and politics in his 32 years as an MP, Party President Baroness Sal Brinton opened a time of prayer and Revd Stephen Keyworth from the Baptist Union led the prayers.

A joint LDCF, Liberal Democrat Women and Restored Relationships fringe debate on domestic violence - ‘Time for men to stand up?’ - generated a fascinating discussion. Chaired by Baroness Northover, great contributions came from men and women on the panel and the floor. In the exhibition hall, the game of ‘Leader's Speech Bingo' on the LDCF stand proved popular amongst members and politicians. Judith Cunliffe-Jones, who guessed Tim would repeat Liberalism, Proud, Poorest, Fight and Freedom most in his speech, is crowned winner.

Finally, LDCF held their AGM and elected a great new Exec for 2016. They are…
