The Liberal Democrat Christian Forum ventured to York for Spring Conference 2016. Here's what we got up to.
On 11th-13th March, York was taken over by over 1,500 Liberal Democrats. Ready to vote on policy motions, debate topical issues and meet a bunch of like-minded people, conference began.
Europe was the theme of the weekend. Tim Farron MP and Catherine Bearder MEP rallied us into action and LDCF, as part of a Christians for Europe campaign, explored why Christians wanted to remain in Europe.
Taking a break from Europe, LDCF chaired a fringe over breakfast on the issue of homelessness. Inspired by contributions from Green Pastures, Restore York and Baroness Dorothy Thornhill, the audience shared thoughts on how we can be part of the solution. If you missed it, you can listen to all the panelists and the proceding Q&A here. As Barrie Stephenson from Restore York said: 'the answer is not just bricks and mortar...it's how you work within that property with the people that need a place to live'.
As part of our continued focus on the housing crisis, watch this space for how LDCF takes this forward!
To end the weekend, all conference attendees gathered in the auditorium for a cracking speech from Tim Farron. Tune in at 3:14:58 to hear it.
